Tim Hawkinson earned a BFA from San Jose State University, and a MFA at the University of California, Los Angeles. His work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale (1999), Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (2001), Whitney Museum of American Art (2005), J. Paul Getty Museum (2007), and Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (2007-2008).
