Hertz is a contemporary artist whose work explores themes of technological progress, innovation and interdisciplinarity. Hertz works at the Art Center College of Design and at the University of California Irvine. He is founder and director of Dorkbot SoCal, a monthly Los Angeles-based DIY lecture series on electronic art and design. His projects utilize robotics, software and performance to highlight and complicate conventional knowledge through humor and paradox.
