For the Green Prix, marksearch will create a prototype of the Local Motorgraph, an interactive community conversation billboard that will be towed by their tandem bike. Instead of advertising commodities, the Motorgraph’s messages will deliver community information to enhance the common good. They envision communities collaboratively using the Motorgraph to visually amplify their local news and information. Neighborhood listservs have become the contemporary community bulletin board. However, listservs can only reach those who are ‘connected’, emphasizing the digital divide among neighbors within communities. Their project will compensate for the negative impacts of digital communication.
