World of Wonder (2010) is a smaller version of “Camera Projecta” installed at GLOW Santa Monica in 2008. The installation engages participants and observers to explore trash as a resource to express their ideas. Transformed by light and shadow discarded bits of plastic take on new meaning. A yellow plastic ring becomes a sun in a landscape. A broken comb becomes part of an abstracted skyline. Triangular packing foam becomes wings on an angel. As participants create their World of Wonder on the bed of a repurposed overhead projector, observers witness the creative process up on the screen. All materials have value and purpose in the process of building a new world together.
